Namukweny Valley in Kidepo:  Namukweny valley is one of the magnificent valleys within Kidepo Valley National Park. Namukweny is a name delivered from Karamajong which meant a place with no birds. It is believed that the Karamajong people while grazing could hardly find birds in those areas simply because the vegetation by then was not favorable.

However, as of present, the Namukweny Valley has a lot of bird species and most tourists have found love with the valley because of the bird species they explore in this valley while on their hiking or bird watching safaris in this park. Remember, that Kidepo Valley National Park is located within the Northeastern part of Uganda in the Karamoja region with two seasonal rivers of Kidepo and Narus which dries up during dry season leaving just poles for wild animals.
