Day 1: Arrive and Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport where your best of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi tour starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. Your will then be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your adventure Safari.

Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money Changed on this day and time

Allowing you may go for city tour with the help of our driver/guide, visit the shopping Malls

Around town and craft villages to get items which you may need while in upcountry

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Have breakfast and Transfer to Kibale National Park through verdant home steads and tea estates, you Will reach early to have an optional visit to the palace of Tooro depending on your time of arrival in fort portal. Later Transfer to The Fringes of Kibale National Park where you may too have an Optional Hike to the Top of the World – Here you will be able to View the Crater Lakes and the Canopy Forest and the Rest of the surrounding Communities.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Kibale’s 1450 Chimpanzee represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also a home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.  Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a good chance of hearing and seeing our distant cousins as they gloom and bond with one another.

Alternatively, you may opt to do chimpanzee habituation experience by paying a supplement of $50 per person; this exercise takes the whole entire day.  Only 6 people are allowed per day and you will be sure to come face to face with these closest cousins of man. Advance booking is necessary for this option.

After lunch, head to Bigodi for an afternoon swamp walk. Bigodi was established by a local development organization to protect the 4sq-km Magombe Swamp that’s home to around 200 species of birds (highlights include papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler and great blue turaco). The highlight of this tour is catching a glimpse of the great blue turaco. The swamp is also good for spotting butterflies and primates, with 8 different species here, including grey-cheeked mangabey. The 2-3 hour guided walk is led by experienced local guides.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stopover to View the craters

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park following Mystical Rwenzori Back drops with a stopover to view the Craters of Kasenda. Depending on time of Arrival and how you feel, you may Go for a Game Drive in The afternoon.

Day 5: Game Drives and Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.  Have an early morning Lion Tracking activities alongside the researchers who will provide you with the depth information about lions and the surrounding, here you will enjoy an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzori as backdrop, which provides excellent chance to spot more lions as well as leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck.

After lunch, have a boat Safari on Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha Sector – Home of the Tree Climbing Lions

Have Breakfast and Transfer to Ishasha Sector – A sector Characterized by tree climbing lions and other mammals, where you will have a game Drive and Later Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi impenetrable National Park arriving in the afternoon.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today is a memorable day for your best of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi Tour! After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

You may opt for Gorilla Habituation on supplement of $900 per person – here you will be sure of meeting and spending enough time with the Gorillas.

Later after Lunch, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi where you will Paddle and stay overnight looking at The Dugout Canoe.

Day 8: Boat Safari on Lake Bunyonyi to the Punishment Island and Other Islands – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Hike to Diana Fossey Grave

After Breakfast, you will enjoy a Boat Safari to The Akampene, a small Island on Lake Bunyonyi where Young pregnant unmarried Girls were taken and abandoned there to die or to be rescued by very poor old fishermen, Time allowing, you will visit other villages on The Island.

Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Proceed with the trail head to access the karisoke research Camp which is about 10 minutes from the park boundary Trekking to the Dian Fossey’s grave takes about one and half to 2 hour hike which too rewards you with good views of forest hogs, forest elephants, a variety of primates and bird species. This hike is an incredible experience physically, emotionally and intellectually. It is so inspiring to learn about someone who was so dedicated and left a legacy that exists even today. The hike involves moving through the forests and hiking up the slopes and therefore requires some relative degree of fitness and patience. At the site you will find the house from where Dian Fossey was mysteriously murdered in 1985 but the more peaceful is the place where she was buried just next to her favorite gorilla friend, Digit and about 20 other mountain gorillas either killed by poachers or suffered death for other reasons unknown.

Day 9: Optional Gorilla Tracking Experience and afternoon Visit to Ibyiwacu Community or Village

Optional Activity at an extra Fee of $1500 per person: – Early morning rise from the lodge, you drive into the park about 30 minutes to the Office. The head ranger will divide you into groups based on interest and fitness. From the office your driver/guide will take you as close as possible to the starting point of your tracking. You will track the Gorillas of one of the habituated groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.

Prepare for an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas. Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. The time taken to track the gorillas can take as little as half an hour to as much as 8 hours! Once located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with the gorillas. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Rwanda’s own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’

Alternatively, relax in the Morning and later after early lunch, enjoy a hike to Ibyiwacu Community or Village which is a Profit Umbrella that that aims at improving the lives of Poachers or the Community through Community initiatives, supporting community development and livelihood based projects. Share their stories and Knowledge

Day 10: Transfer to Gisenyi for Relaxation

After Breakfast, you will proceed to Lake Kivu for a sunset cruise to The Napoleon Island; you may take a Nature walk on The Island to see the Bats and Birds.

Day 11: Leisure Transfer to Burundi – enjoy the site viewings

After Breakfast, you will follow amazing view to Burundi’s second largest City Gitega; this is well known for its Traditional drum and shrines which are traditionally associated with Black Africa and it is a symbol of Burundi – Mwami meaning the beat of drums to the principles of ruling the kingdom. – We will proceed to Gishora to listen to the Traditional concert of mesmerizing sounds.

Day 12: Leisure Transfer to Bujumbura for Site Visits

Transfer to Bujumbura where you will have an amazing view of Lake Tanganyika and visit major city sites and time allowing visit the Polish mission.

Day 13: Leisure Transfer to Kigali

Transfer to Kigali following green jungle covered hill sides via small Villages – The region is known as the Land of 1000 hills and it is one of the most charming places in Africa.
