Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport

Depending on arrival time, meet and greet our representative to start your Rwanda gorilla safari with a drive you to Volcanoes national park. Enjoy the journey to Ruhengeri with beautiful hilly landscapes sightings that define Rwanda as  “land of a thousand hills” , will only be amused at how those hills could be arranged in such a beautiful manner so much in a descending order, with undulating greenery grass all over them. Day 2: Gorilla tracking tour and cultural entertainment.

But the encounter with a Gorilla is worthwhile the tiredness that takes about 2-6hours before you meet them and you will only be left with these giants for a maximum of 1hour.It is wise to carry packed lunch and water for this exercise. Retire for dinner and overnight stay at booked lodge.

Day 3: Going on to relax at Lake kivu.

Lake Kivu, on the Rwanda/Congo border, the largest, is like a giant inland sea with some interesting lakeside towns. Kibuye, two hours from Kigali, is a relaxing retreat for swimming, canoeing and water-skiing. Gisenyi, a famous resort in the past, now has a sleepy forgotten air with some fine but neglected buildings from the Belgian era. Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park

Have an early breakfast at the lodge and after transfer to Nyungwe forest national park with lunch en route. The forest is rich with the shy forest dwellers like the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe forest and afternoon bird watching

This is the second highlight of your Rwanda gorilla safari! After breakfast, report to the park headquarters in Nyungwe forest for briefing before going for chimpanzee tracking. However, it is advisable to organize packed lunch and plenty of water prior to this expedition since it can sometimes last over 6 hours. In the forest, you will not only see chimpanzees to but also  variety of animals and birds like the great blue Turacco, black and white casqued horn bill, colobus monkeys – sometimes as many as 400 in a group.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali city proceed to the airport for departure.
