Top things to do and see in lake Mburo national park Uganda: This is the one of the smallest national park found in the savannahs of Uganda, it lies on 260 sq. kilometers and it is located in district of Kiruhura nearby the town of Mbarara. Lake Mburo is the nearest park towards Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, it takes just 4 hours from Kampala to arrive to the park. Lake Mburo is also owned by the Uganda Wildlife Authority as like other parks.

Game drives:  Game drives are exciting activities that occur in the park. They are divided into morning and evening drive. On the drive you will have an opportunity to take a closer look at wildlife animals in the park. Some of these animals include Buffaloes, baboons, vervets, eland, zebra, waterbucks and among others.  Monkeys cannot be missed out while in the park.

Spot fishing: While doing this activity in the park, visitors are accepted to sail on the lake and also are accepted to do fishing so as to catch their biggest aquatic species

Bird Watching: You will watch over 350 bird species in this area. You will watch birds like eagles, African fin foot, bee-eater, white headed barbet, brown parrot, papyrus yellow warbler and among others. The skies of Lake Mburo are amazing with an amazing scenery of birds flying all over the waters and the forest of the park.

Launch cruise /Boat Cruise: as you are carrying out boat cruise, you will watch aquatic birds in the sky and also look at hippos and crocodiles meandering all over the lake.

Horse riding: You can ride a horse as you’re widely viewing the amazing sceneries of the park.

Nature walk: You will also enjoy the nature walk of Lake Mburo with the guide of a ranger or a guide. During this nature walk you will spot hyenas, Elands, Buffaloes, Giraffes, zebras, Topi, antelopes.

Rubanga Forest:  Rubanga forest is an amazing area where a large number of bird can be spotted. You will spot Narina trogon, harrier hawk and among others plus tree species like the Acacia, fig trees, palm, Markhamia and many more.

Salt lick: You can also have a guided walk with a guide or a ranger and you look at the animals seriously licking the salt. In this place visitors have a big chance to see almost animal species in the park because they usually come here leaking the salty soil.

Biking/Cycling: There are a lot of things you will know as your cycling in the park, you will spot buffaloes, antelope, you can be provide with mountain bikes to help you on the terrains of the lake.

As you getting close to Lake Mburo you can have a stopover at Igongo Cultural Center which is a good stop to learn about Banyakitara culture like about their long horned cattle, local food, history and among others.
