Murchison  falls national park is the oldest and largest national park in Uganda with an area of 3898 sq. kilometers, the park is located in north western Uganda in districts of Masindi, Bulisa, Kiryandongo and Nyowa. The park is controlled by Uganda wildlife authority

Sport fishing is  done for pleasure or competition with great opportunities to land on a large Nile perch, cat fish, tiger fish, electric cat fish and tilapia among others. The park is separated by river Nile creating the southern sector and northern sector. It’s the longest river in the world river Nile that makes sport fishing an unforgettable experience because of its best fishing area for fish species i.e. cat fish.

While sport fishing you get a chance to see biggest fish species that’s the Nile perch, you can get other fish i.e. cat fish, tiger fish, electric cat fish, and tilapia among others. But note that this activity in the national park is not for food but its catch and release basis.

There are a number of fishing spots in Murchison falls national park, you may either use fish on boat or on river banks.
