Queen Elizabeth is one of the most visited national parks in Uganda. There are a lot of good things at Murchison falls national park. The park is blessed with over 53 mammals, 600 bird species, and primates among others. The park is famous for tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. Queen Elizabeth national park is located in districts of Kasese, Rukungiri, Rubirizi, and Kamwenge in western Uganda. The park is a 414 km drive from Kampala city to Kasese town.

Lake Bunyonyi is found in Kisoro and Kabale districts in southwestern Uganda. It’s called lake Bunyonyi because it’s a place of birds. Lake Bunyonyi covers an area of 46 sq. km and it’s 25km long and 7km wide. The lake is laid on a latitude of 1962 m above sea level and with a depth of 900 m

Lake Bunyonyi is not densely populated with a few towns on the shores of the lake like Kyevu and Muto towns with about 29 islands which include Kyahungye, Bushara, Bwama, Nyuyeera, and Bacuranka among others. Activities carried out by people who visit Lake Bunyonyi include canoeing, birding, bird watching, boat ride, cultural encounters, water sports, scenic viewing, nature walks, and hiking among others

Lake Bunyonyi is close to the Rwanda border and is so far the best place for loved ones in the country and perhaps east Africa, Lake Bunyonyi is a good place for lovers and those who want honeymoons, the hillside terraced around Lake Bunyonyi are just beautiful. Lake Bunyonyi is bilharzia free with no hippos and crocodiles making the water safe for swimming. 6 Days Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Bunyonyi Tour

Day 1: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park Royal Drum makers’ village and the Equator

You will depart Entebbe in the morning after breakfast and travel westwards through Uganda’s beautiful green countryside to the Queen Elizabeth National park. The journey will take 6-7 hours with stopovers at areas of tourist attraction such as the Royal Drum makers’ village and the Equator for an opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time.
You will continue through the savannah grasslands with lots of banana plantations and several herds of local long horned Ankole cattle endemic to this part of the country. You will get to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening. Dinner and overnight will be at Parkview safari lodge

Day 2: Morning Game drive and boat cruise

Have an early morning game drive and set off early (about 6.30am) for a morning game drive, an awesome experience to spot the animals in natural habitats. Expect to see the famous Big Five; Elephant, Buffalos, Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas leopards, antelopes, and Waterbucks as well as birds.
In the afternoon you will take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see at close range the water animals to include Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles. There is also a variety of bird species on the water banks especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. Dinner and overnight will be at Parkview safari lodge

Day 3: Travel to Lake Bunyonyi for evening canoeing experience

Early breakfast head to Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing experience. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa [900 meters deep] and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzias free. Check in to your lodge, have lunch and relax at your terrace with spectacular views of the Uganda’s most doted lake. Take an evening canoe ride to see the exceedingly beautiful scenery of this part of the country. Dinner and overnight will be at Arcadia Bunyonyi lodge.

Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi –Morning boat riding to visit several Islands

This is day after breakfast take a boat ride to visit the several Islands of this place. Each island has its own significant history and visit the pygmy community enjoy their traditional dance performances and see the way of life these pygmies used to live before they were taken out of their own habitat, return to the lodge to have lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight will be at Arcadia Bunyonyi lodge.

Day 5: Spend the whole day relaxing at the lodge

On this day, shake off the fatigue and stress. Arcadia is a perfect safari lodge for you just to relax. Enjoy a wonderful hearty breakfast served at the Lodge and then just have the day to yourselves. You may decide to go swim in the lake or relax at the balcony overlooking the magnificent Lake Bunyonyi Island. or enjoy our gardens with a bottle of worm or cold wine (optional). Have lunch at the restaurant and enjoy a quiet afternoon with the sounds of the wild. Get a yummy dinner and after experience our comfortable bed. Day 6: Departure to Entebbe international airport

After breakfast with great memories of epic adventures, depart Lake Bunyonyi heading to Kampala at your booked hotel. You may meet a number of Ankole Long horned cattle enroute to the capital
