6 days Uganda gorilla tracking and wildlife safari tour will take you to Lake Mburo national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, and Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The activities involved in this safari are gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, a game drive in Mburo national park as well as a game drive, and a boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park. Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is home to more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas and it has 4 tracking sectors.  This same safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth national park famous for tree-climbing lions and the Kazinga channel which joins lakes; Edward and George. This safari includes a visit to lake Mburo national park where you will be able to enjoy a boat cruise. Lake Mburo national park is among the smallest parks in Uganda with a big population of zebras.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Departure for Lake Mburo

Have your morning breakfast at your hotel and thereafter, your guide will pick you up, brief you about the journey to start your 6 Days Uganda gorilla tour and wildlife with a drive to Lake Mburo national park located in southwestern Uganda. Along the way, you will have a stopover at Mpambiire drum makers where you will get an opportunity to learn how they are made and also buy some souvenirs, another stopover at the equator for photography. You will arrive in lake Mburo in the afternoon, check in your lodge, and have some lunch. After lunch, you will head out for a game drive where you will view different wildlife species such as zebras, kobs, giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, and different bird species. drive back to the lodge, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

Have morning breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet your driver for transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in southwestern Uganda. On your way to the park, you will have an en-route lunch in Mbarara and proceed with your journey while enjoying great views of the rolling Kigezi hills. Later arrive at the park which is home to more than half of the mountain gorillas remaining in the world. The park has four gorilla sectors and 19 habituated gorilla families which are open for tracking throughout the year. If you arrive in the park early you can have a guided nature walk inside the park or just relax at the lodge as you prepare for gorilla trekking the following day.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking – Bwindi impenetrable forest

Have early morning breakfast, thereafter meet your driver-guide for a transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about rules and regulations of gorilla trekking in their natural habitat. After briefing the ranger guide will lead you to the forest as you search for mountain gorillas. It’s not easy to tell how long tracking will be since it depends on the location of these giant apes, but most of the time it takes 2 to 8 hours. Trekkers are advised to carry jackets in case it rain, enough drinking water, and energy-giving snacks. On sighting gorillas, you will be given a maximum of one hour with mountain gorillas and with this time you will learn some of their behaviors, watch them carry on their daily activities, take photos, and record moments using flash less cameras. Trek back to the starting point, get your gorilla trekking certificate, and meet your driver to take you to the lodge for lunch in case you never moved with it. in the afternoon you can decide to do a simple nature walk around your lodge or take a visit to the Batwa community and have a good time watch them sing and dance through cultural performances. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha sector

Have a morning breakfast check out of the lodge and thereafter start on your journey through savannah vegetation, you will go through the Ishasha sector where you will get an opportunity to view tree-climbing lions and some animal species as you approach queen Elizabeth national park. The park is famous for tree-climbing lions and the Kazinga channel connecting lake Edward to lake George. On arrival at the park, you will check in your booked lodge, have lunch, and later an evening game drive where you will be able to see various animals like the kobs, antelopes, elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, etc. After get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Game drive and an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel

You will start your day with a morning breakfast, meet your driver-guide for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. During the game drives you will view different animals like the waterbucks, buffaloes, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, antelopes among others. After a wonderful game drive, you will get back to the lodge, relax and later have lunch. in the afternoon you will do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that joins lake George to lake Albert and a chance to see water birds like the malachite kingfisher, saddle-billed stork, pink backed pelicans, and animals like crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes feeding along the shores. Later in the evening drive back to the lodge, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure back to Kampala

Have a relaxed breakfast and set off for Kampala, on your way you will go will have great and beautiful scenery along the way because of the beautiful vegetation.
