Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Travel to Ngamba Island for chimpanzee experience

On the first day of 4 days, Bwindi gorillas and Ngamba chimps your driver-guide will pick you from your hotel or Entebbe international airport and brief you about the trip to the island. Thereafter drive you to Lake Victoria where you will take a boat ride to the island which is home to over 50 chimpanzees.

Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be welcomed by the workers and given an orientation talk at the interpretation center. After you will move to the viewing platform to watch chimpanzees during their supplementary feeding times done by the caregivers. After feeding chimpanzees, you will be allowed to explore the island’s visitor’s area and travel back to Entebbe and thereafter drive to Kampala which happens to be Uganda’s capital.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

On the second day after your morning breakfast, you will meet your driver and start driving southwestwards to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will have a stopover at the equator crossing in Kayabwe for photos and buy souvenirs. You will proceed with your journey and have lunch at the Igongo cultural center in Mbarara. Later you will proceed with your journey to Kabale with great views of the beautiful landscape, plantations, rolling hills, homesteads, and smiling people. You will reach Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in the evening, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking – Bwindi impenetrable forest

On the third day of your safari, you will wake up every early for a breakfast, get your packed lunch and meet your driver-guide to take you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and dont’s of gorilla trekking by the park ranger guide. Later you will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and given a guide to lead you into the forest in search of these gorillas. The trekking in Bwindi can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of these primates as they move from one place to another looking for what to eat. Once you see these apes you will be given a maximum of one hour to be around them and this will give you an opportunity to learn about their behaviors, habits, watch them play, feed, patrol, hunt, make nests, and mothers breastfeed while you take photos and record moments with fleshless cameras. You will later trek back to the starting point get your gorilla trekking certificate and meet your driver-guide for a transfer back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Return to Kampala

After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and meet your safari driver for a transfer back to Kampala with en-route lunch at Igongo cultural center in Entebbe. After lunch, you will proceed with your journey and have a stopover at the equator for more photos and souvenirs. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening and our driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel or Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
