Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls national park – Ziwa rhino sanctuary

After morning breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, a driver guide from Africa adventure vacations will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala, brief you about the safari after start on your journey to Murchison falls national park in northwestern Uganda. You will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking, after proceed with your journey and have an en-route lunch in Masindi as you head to the park. When you arrive in the park you will check-in and relax in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive – Afternoon boat cruise and hike to the top of the falls

In the morning have breakfast, meet your driver and proceed to the park for a game drive. During the game drive in the park, you will be able to see several animals such as buffaloes, giraffes, lions, warthog, hippos, baboons, and different bird species among others. After the game drive, you will get back to the lodge relax and have lunch. in the afternoon you will go on a boat cruise on the Nile River. During the boat cruise, you will see several water birds, water animals like crocodiles and hippos, and some of the park animals like the elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes on the lake shores drinking water. The boat cruise will take you to the bottom of the falls where you will proceed with a hike to the top of the falls and be able to see how the water forces its self through a narrow gap producing a thunderous sound. If you are lucky you will also find a rainbow. At the top of the falls, you will find your driver who will drive you back to the lodge. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national park

On the third day, you will enjoy an early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver for a transfer to Kibale forest national park. On your way to the park, you will enjoy the beautiful countryside endowed with the Albertine escarpments. On your way, you will have an en-route lunch in Masindi after proceed with your journey to Kibale forest national park one of the great rain forests in Africa. Kibale forest national park is home to 13 primates among which include chimpanzees, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and 375 bird species. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in your booked lodge, relax, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland

On the 4th day of 7 days adventure holiday Uganda, you will wake up for a morning breakfast at your lodge, thereafter meet your driver-guide for transfer to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking briefing. Get grouped and be given a ranger guide to lead you into the amazing rain forest to search for chimpanzees, finding them will be one of the most beautiful moments as you will enjoy watching them do their daily activities like playing, feeding, hunting as you take photos and record videos. After spending one hour with chimpanzees in their natural habitat you will get back to the starting point and meet your driver to take you back to the lodge for lunch. in the afternoon you will visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will be able to see some of the park’s primates such as bug pigs, mongoose, otters, baboons, and some of the bird species.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

After a morning breakfast check out of the lodge and meet your driver for a transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in southwestern Uganda. The park is famous for being the home of more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. On your way to Bwindi, you will see amazing vegetation, landscape, and local people along the road. you will have an en-route lunch and upon arrival at the park, you will just check-in at your lodge, relax and later go for a guided nature walk.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

Enjoy a very early morning breakfast, meet your driver for a transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be led by a ranger guide into the forest as you start your search for mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is not an easy activity but it’s worth it. It takes 2 to 8 hours to meet the gorillas and when you meet them they give you a maximum of one hour to stay with them in their natural habitat which allows you to learn some of their behaviors, watch them do daily activities like males patrolling, mothers breastfeed, the young ones play, others hunt and make nests among others. You are allowed to take photos and record moments with flash-less cameras. After trekking, meet your driver to take you to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation.
