This 6 days Uganda safari, gorillas, wildlife, and chimpanzee will take you to different national parks in western and southwestern Uganda such as Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for gorilla trekking; home to more than a half to the reaming gorillas, 120 species of mammals, 350 birds, trees all on an area of 331 sq. km. The safari will also take you to Kibale forest national park which is home to 13 primates species and famous for chimpanzees. Lastly, you will visit queen Elizabeth national park in western Uganda and home to several wildlife species among which include 10 primates, 95 mammals, 500 birds, and tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale national park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast after which you will be met by our safari English-speaking guide who will first brief you about the journey after drive you to Kibale forest national park via Fort portal with an en-route lunch. upon arrival at the park, you will proceed and go explore the beautiful crater lakes area and the terraced tea estates. Check-in your lodge, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After very early morning breakfast, set out with your safari driver as he transfers you to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, follow your ranger guide and start chimpanzee trekking through the rain forest. It’s one of the thrilling and unforgettable experiences meeting chimpanzees eye to eye and watching them do their daily activities like breasting, hunting, feeding, patrolling, making nests among others as you take photos and record moments. During the trekking, you can meet other animals such as l’hoest’s monkey, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and also different bird species.

Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise

Wake up early and have a cup of coffee, meet your driver, and set out for a game drive along the Kasenyi track where you will have an opportunity to see early risers such as leopards, antelopes, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, and different bird species. after a game drive head to the lodge relax and have lunch after which go for a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel

The boat cruise is one of the most done activities in queen Elizabeth national park taking you about 2 hours. During the boat cruise, you will enjoy watching buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants along the banks, crocodiles, hippos, and water birds among others. Return to the lodge, relax, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth national park to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver and start on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest through the Ishasha sector with a look at the tree-climbing lions and some of the park animals like the kobs, elephants, buffaloes, and different bird species. you will have an en-route lunch and reach the park in the evening. Proceed to the lodge, check-in, and have an overnight stay.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Gorilla trekking and a visit to Batwa community

Today is the highlight of your 6 days gorillas, wildlife and chimpanzee safari Uganda! Wake up very early morning for a delicious breakfast and thereafter meet your driver for a transfer to the park headquarters not forgetting your packed lunch. on reaching the headquarters you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while trekking gorillas after which you will be led into the mist jungle by a ranger guide. Trekking mountain gorillas in the Bwindi forest usually takes 2 to 8 hours or even more depending on the location of gorillas. When you see them, it will be your best moment as you watch them do their daily activities like breastfeeding, hunting, making nests, playing, and all this in one hour. Later trek back to the starting point, pick your gorilla trekking certificate and drive to the lodge for lunch if you never moved with one. After lunch, you will visit the Batwa community living around the park and have an opportunity to interact with local people about their day-to-day life, taste local food as well as wine made from bananas. Later return to the lodge to have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure to Kampala

After morning breakfast check out of your lodge, meet your driver-guide, and set off for Kampala. Have a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara for lunch and another at the equator for photos and souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala get dropped at your hotel or Entebbe international airport to end your 6 days gorillas, wildlife and chimpanzee safari Uganda
