Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

After your morning breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel and brief you about your 4 days Uganda gorillas safari before starting on your journey to southwestern Uganda about 8 – 9 hours. Along your way, you will have a stopover at the equator crossing at Kayabwe where you will take some photos and buy souvenirs from the gift shops around. You will proceed with your journey and have lunch at Igongo cultural center in Mbarara. After lunch, you will continue with your journey going through different sceneries, beautiful landscapes, rolling hills, smiling people, and others. When you arrive in the park you will proceed to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: First gorilla trekking and community tour

After enjoying your morning breakfast, get your packed lunch and meet your driver for a transfer to the park headquarters at 7: 00 am for a briefing before you start on gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest. You will be given rules and regulations, a guide, and a gorilla family to trek after which enter the forest in search of these giant apes. The time takes to find these mountain gorillas range from 2 hours to 8 hours depending on their movement. When you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the gentle giants in this time you get to learn about their behaviors, habits, daily activities and take enough photos. Later return to the starting point get your gorilla trekking certificate and meet your driver for a transfer back to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon you will go for a community in the Batwa people where you will be entertained, taste local foods and beer made from banana, and also get to listen to their old stories.

Day 3: Second gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Wake up early morning take your breakfast and have your packed lunch and other requirements you need for gorilla trekking then meet your driver for a drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. During the briefing, you will be told about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking thereafter be given a ranger guide to lead you into the forest and a different gorilla family from that you trekked yesterday. During gorilla trekking, you will come across other animals of the park, bird species, and different vegetation types. After 2 – 8 hours you will find a gorilla family and you will be given a maximum of one hour to spend with these giant apes and with this time you will learn about their behaviors, habits, see their day-to-day activities and take photos. After trekking, you will get back to the starting point and meet your driver for a transfer back to the lodge.

At the lodge, you will check out and if you never moved with your lunch you will have one after which check out and drive to Lake Bunyonyi which is the second deepest lake in Africa. Upon reaching Lake Bunyonyi you will check in your lodge, relax. Dinner and an overnight stay

Day 4: Boat cruise and departure 

Wake up to a morning breakfast after which head out for a boat ride on lake Bunyonyi here you will visit some of the 29 islands among which include Akampene also known as the punishment island where girls who were not married and got pregnant were taken to starve and die, birds, terraced hills and smiling people. After a boat ride, you will check out of the lodge and start on your journey back to Kampala with an en-route lunch reaching there in the evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or transfer to the airport to end your 4 Days Double Visit Uganda Gorillas safari.
