Uganda extended discounted gorilla trekking permit, chimpanzee trekking permit for primate watching and park entrance fees- Good news coming from Uganda Wildlife Authority a body in charge of Uganda tourism indicate that they have extended the discounts on park entrance fees, birding fees, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits until 31^st June 2021. This is a good deal for visitors and travelers intending to come to Uganda before 30^th June 2021. The offer started on 1^st December 2020 and was to end on 31^st march 2021 but Uganda Wildlife Authority has decided to extend the offer until 30^th June 2021.

Here in Uganda tourism resumed in the late months of 2020, thanks to travelers and visitors who have managed to track mountain gorillas and chimpanzees as well as other tourism activities despite the harsh Covid-19 situation that the whole world is experiencing now, special thanks to the Ugandan government and its medical team for working tirelessly to reduce on the spread of Covid- 19 in the country.

As we are still fighting the spread of Covid- 19 in Uganda, Uganda Wildlife Authority a body in charge of tourism in Uganda is pleased to inform all people intending to visit Uganda that it will be running a festive season price discount for visits to Uganda’s national parks. This festive season has been launched to give a chance to incentive domestic, regional and international tourist to travel top any of Uganda’s national parks by reducing park entrance fees, birding fees, gorilla permit fee and chimpanzee permit fee.

Extending of the discounts has been done to enable all travelers within and outside east Africa to come and visit the country considering that they have been affected by the Covid- 19 virus. The discounts offered to travelers and visitors are listed below.

Gorilla trekking permit discount

Until 30^th June 2021, Uganda Wildlife Authority has reduced / discounted gorilla trekking permit for tourists visiting Uganda for gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga national park.  foreign non – residents gorilla permit fees have been reduced from USD 700 to USD 400, foreign residents gorilla permit fees have been reduced from  USD 600 to USD 300 and lastly East African citizens gorilla permit fees will be UGX150,000 from previous UGX 250,000 al these per person per trek.

Chimpanzee trekking permit discount

Until 30^th June 2020, foreign non – residents chimpanzee trekking permits will be USD 150 reduced from USD 200, foreign residents chimpanzee trekking permit will be USD 100 reduced from USD 150 and the East African citizens will purchase the chimpanzee trekking permit for UGX 100,000 from UGX 150,000.

Park entrance fees discount

Uganda wildlife authority has offered a discount of 50% on park entrance fee of Kidepo Valley National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Toro Semuliki Wildlife Reserve, Lake Mburo National Park, Katongo Wildlife Reserve, Pian Dupe Wildlife Reserve and Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve.

Birding fee discount

There has been a 50% discount birding fee in the following national parks Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Mount Elgon National Park, Semuliki National Park, Mgahinga National Park, Rwenzori Mountains National Park and Kibale Forest National Park.

Note that the reduction on chimpanzee and gorilla tracking fees will only apply to new purchases between 1st April 2020 and 30^th June 2021 and not on the reschedules of already deposited on permits on purchases using credit letters.
