Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Form Entebbe internal airport, you will be picked by our well-trained and hospitable Africa Adventure Vacation safari guide to commence your 5 Day Gorilla habituation and chimpanzee trekking safari from Entebbe. This safari will start early in the morning and you will drive towards the southeastern region of Uganda where Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located. This is an approximately 8-9 hours road trip full of interesting stopovers where you will be able to stretch your muscles and relax shortly before you proceed to the next stop. The first stopover is always at the equator crossing for the photo moments and then continue to Mbarara city to have lunch. After Mbarara city, you will travel via Ntungamo and Kabale with the scenic views of the terraced garden in the rolling hills of Kigezi and the attractive plantation farms with local people there doing their usual daily activities. Your next and final stop will be the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in the Rushaga region of Bwindi Forest where the gorilla habituation activity takes place. Check in to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park

Wake up early, have breakfasts, and go straight to the park headquarters where you will join or be joined with other trekkers for the gorilla habituation experience briefing to give you insight into what you should or shouldn’t do while on gorilla habituation experience in the Bwindi impenetrable forest National Park Rushaga sector. After the briefing, a team of researchers and guides you to the forest as you search for the endangered mountain Gorillas. Once you see the gorillas you will spend 4 hours with the gorillas that are being habituated. You may be allowed by researchers to engage in the activities that researchers do to make gorillas get used to the people such as the naming of the gorillas, calling them, collecting samples, and others. You will then be guided back to the park headquarters where you had started from and receive a certificate or gorilla habituation experience success and then you will be driven back to your lodge for dinner and the overnight stay.

In the morning after your breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up at the lodge and drive you to Kibale Forest National Park via Queen Elizabeth National Park where you might see some of the wildlife in the park as you bypass the park. You will even get a chance to stop at another equator line crossing which is at Kikorongo in Queen Elizabeth National Park and then proceed for Fortportal the tourism city where you will have lunch and then drive to Kibale Forest National Park to check at the lodge that we have booked for you for relaxation and the overnight stay.

Journey time: Approximately five to six hours (5-6)

Day 4: Wakeup for chimpanzee trekking expedition

In the morning, you will wake up early, take breakfast, and thereafter be driven to the Kibale forest park headquarters for the chimpanzee trekking briefing where you will even be given the community of the chimpanzee or troop that you will trek. The walk to Kibale Forest National Park will lead you to the habituated communities of chimpanzees and once you have seen the habituated chimpanzees, you will spend one hour with habituated chimpanzees as you observe them as you’re taking the photos of these great apes. And this means that you should be able to come with cameras. Kibale Forest National Park is home to over 13 species of primates can be seen even doing chimpanzee tracking and other numerous bird species after the activity of chimpanzee trekking, you can decide to go for the Bigodi wetland walk for bird watching and community outreach, and after return to your lodge for relaxation and the overnight stay.
