Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe / Kampala – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park –Visit Katwe salt mining village

After having breakfast at your hotel or residence you will be met by our company driver guide for meet and great, be briefed on what to expect, the drive time, where to have stopover, lunch and to ensure that you have the right gear for your 4 Days Queen Elizabeth wildlife and chimpanzee tracking safari in Uganda and then begin your safari to Queen Elizabeth national park for wildlife sighting and chimpanzee tracking through small towns along Kampala-Masaka – Mbarara highway with a stopover at the Equator crossing international landmark in Kayabwe to stretch, watch the water experiments showing the movement of forces on the northern, southern and at the center of the planet, take some photos at this landmark, have a cup of coffee and proceed with the drive. You will have another stopover at Igongo cultural museum to have lunch, tour the museum (Eriijukiro) which presents the Art crafts, norms, customs, traditions life and the history of the people of Western Uganda and her neighboring kingdoms. Thereafter, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will reach early evening to check in at your booked accommodation, freshen yourself, relax for few minutes and then drive to Katwe salt mining village to see lake Katwe which an unusual lake that is too salty which gives a unique experience of learning fascinating yet tough process of salt mining and processing it up to consumption level.  After visiting the community, visit the nearby bird sanctuary lake which is a home to thousands of bird species, such as flamingoes and many other. Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning game drive – Afternoon Kazinga channel Boat cruise – Visit Kasoga fishing community

After an early morning breakfast, leave your accommodation and drive to Kasenyi plains in the northern parts of Queen Elizabeth national park for your adventurous morning wildlife sighting game drive. Kasenyi plains is a feeding ground to several wild animal species such as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, several antelope species. At the same time, it is a hunting ground to Lions, Leopards, Spotted hyenas and other park predators therefore, on a good day, during your game drive expect to spot several herds’ elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, and warthogs and big cats like lions and leopards that could be hunting. Queen Elizabeth national park guarantees sightings of some of Africa’s most iconic mammal and bird species.  Queen Elizabeth national park is estimated to have over 5000 hippos, 10,000 buffalo and 2500 elephants thriving in its grasslands and shorelines. After over 5 hours of a game drive, return to your accommodation to have lunch, relax for few minutes and then drive to Mweya peninsular / Katunguru for a two hours’ boat cruise safari on the Kazinga channel. The Kazinga channel has the highest concentration of Hippopotamuses in Uganda and the whole world with an estimate of 5000 individuals, there are numerous Nile crocodiles and over 400 bird water species. Kazinga channel since is the main source of water to the park where most animals in the park converge to drink water and swimming, you will have high chances to spot several mammals such as hippos, Nile crocodiles, Monitor lizards, elephants, buffaloes, and so much more plus bird species. After your afternoon boat cruise, go for another community tour to Kasoga fishing which involves visiting the landing site and getting marine information, traditional canoe making demonstrations, fishing activities such as fish preservation stoves,net sawing, a chance to see women making crafts. Drive back to your lodge to relax, dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth national park – Chimpanzee Tracking and nature walk in Kyambura – Evening game drive

After breakfast, you will drive to the briefing point to be briefed on what you should expect during chimpanzee tracking through Kyambura gorge, get a local sight guide and then set off to start your guided nature walk to search for a Chimpanzees and other wildlife species like other primates, small mammals and bird species. Kyambura gorge is an extension of the Kyambura Game reserve that is part of Queen Elizabeth National Park characterized by a gorge of 100 meters deep, dense tropical rain forest which is a home to primates and other mammals like elephants and hippopotamus and a large number of bird species. Kyambura gorges is the best place for Chimpanzee tracking, bird watching and guided nature. During chimpanzee tracking and nature walk a certain level of fitness is required. After meeting chimpanzees and enjoying the beauty of the nature, return to your lodge to have lunch, spend your evening relaxing and then later in the evening drive to the park for another wildlife sighting game drive to search for more wildlife species of the park and this will give you an opportunity to encounter those species that you would have missed during your previous game, take more photos and fully enjoy the wilderness. Retire from the park and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Queen Elizabethe national park – Chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest reserve – Drive back to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport

This morning after having breakfast, leave the lodge to Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve for chimpanzee tracking. At the forest meeting point you will be briefed on what to expect during the forest walk and how to behave once you have met and then start your guided forest walk to search for chimpanzees and other wildlife species. You will may encounter other primates besides Chimpanzees such as Vervet Monkeys, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue Monkeys and many more. The forest also has 414 tree species, over 378 recorded Bird Species, 262 species of Butterflies, 98 Moths plus Reptiles and Flowers. Besides chimpanzee tracking and nature walks safaris, visitors can as well do study research, bird watching tours, conservation education, and butterfly Identification in this forest. The taken while searching for chimpanzees is not known but expected to be 1 to 4 hours, once you meet them, you will have a maximum of one hour to be with them while enjoying their actions, take many memorial photos as you would want. After the excursion in the forest, return to the starting point to freshen yourself with a bottle of water and then start the journey back to your hotel or residence in Kampala / Entebbe or Entebbe international airport to prepare for your return flight with a stopover at Igongo cultural museum to have lunch and proceed with the drive straight to Kampala or Entebbe where you will arrive in the evening hours.
