What is included in a gorilla permit for Uganda and Rwanda? It is important to note that any visitor planning for a gorilla safari in Congo, Rwanda, or Uganda must know what is involved in a gorilla permit. Gorilla trekking takes place in 3 countries of the democratic republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda.

 For any person to go and see the endangered mountain gorilla in their natural environment, he or she must book the gorilla permit for all the 4 national parks of Volcanoes national park in Rwanda, Virunga National park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mgahinga National park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park both located in Uganda. What is Included in a gorilla permit?

A gorilla permit is a document that allows one to go trek or see mountain gorillas in Volcanoes national park in Rwanda, Virunga National park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mgahinga National park, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park both located in Uganda.

Currently, the Uganda gorilla trekking permit costs $700, in Rwanda it costs $1500 and $400 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As you book a gorilla trekking permit for all the above national park, you need to know what is included in a gorilla permit as described below;

A gorilla permit for Uganda and Rwanda included one hour seeing of mountain gorillas. Without this gorilla permit, you can’t be allowed to see mountain gorillas. Although sometimes the journey takes only 30 minutes or 4 hours, you will only be allowed to see gorillas for only one hour with gorilla family that is fully habituated in either gorilla in Volcanoes national park in Rwanda, Virunga National park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mgahinga National park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. During this one hour, you will be able to see the gorillas, take photos and small videos as you ask any question that you would like to know about the gorillas.

Included also is a gorilla permit for Uganda and Rwanda is the park entrance fees. Visitors entering all the national parks are required to pay the entrance fees. However, Gorilla permit e includes the amount of money the visitors would have paid as park entrance fees to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Mgahainga National park, Volcanoes national park, and Virunga National Park. Thus, you will not be required to pay the park entrance fees since it is involved in your gorilla permit.

The service of the gorilla guide or ranger is also included in a gorilla permit. Some big mountains and forests are thick in Bwindi and Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Uganda respectively and therefore one needs to go with the ranger, guides, and trackers in the forest during the gorilla trekking. While engaging in gorilla trekking Bwindi, Mgahinga, volcanoes, and Virunga national parks you will be accompanied by well-trained rangers as well as guides.  Therefore during the gorilla trekking or habituation experience, you will be guided by guides and researchers with distinguished knowledge on the gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda or Congo. The ranger or guides will explain everything that you will encounter in the forest and thus when you book a gorilla permit then the price of the ranger will exactly be covered

Also included in the gorilla permit is the security in Uganda and Rwanda. The government of Uganda and Rwanda partnering with security agencies ensures that visitors having the gorilla trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Mgahinga, and Volcanoes National Park are safe and secure. All the ranger that are employed go for paramilitary training and they ensure that all visitors for the safari are safe and secure while in the forest. Additionally, in Uganda, there is a whole police unit called the Tourism Police that is responsible for the protection of the tourist in the different destinations.

Included in a gorilla permit n is the service of the trackers. Gorilla trackers involve a group of trained staff who wake up early in the morning before the actual gorilla trekking and go to the forest to look for the habituated gorilla families. Immediately, the gorillas are found by the researchers, they will communicate to the head office in this time the park headquarters informing them about the presence of the habituated gorillas and then, it’s where your journey of the gorilla trekking will start from. And the trackers will follow the gorillas and this is the reason why there are higher chances of seeing gorillas in Uganda in Gorilla Park.
