Uganda discounts gorilla and chimpanzees trekking permits and park entrance fees: Amazingly, this is a good relief plan for visitors and travelers who have some time struggling with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Mind about the communities who sustainably have their livelihood depend on primate tourism, what about the local tourism operators, agents, and hoteliers earning cash from the sectors. There are travel restrictions by the coronavirus pandemic hopefully worldwide escalates the condition of various tourism beneficiaries

Back to Uganda here, primate tourism resumed some two and a half months back,   thanks to our esteemed visitors who have made trek Gorillas and Chimpanzees in Uganda despite the harsh environmental conditions the world is experiencing mow, brave to Uganda government and medical professional for effectively managing the covid19 spread in the country.

To our visitors still planning to travel and explore the endangered mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in their world, here is the good news as you receive the discounted gorilla and chimpanzee permits throughout the upcoming festive season.

As we are still monitoring and managing the spread of the COVID19, the Uganda Wildlife Authority continues to attract and welcome visitors from all destinations in the world to visit Uganda’s National Parks. Therefore the Uganda Wildlife Authority has launched a festive season discount offer to incentivize Domestic, Regional, and International tourists to travel to the National Parks in Uganda by reducing prices on Gorilla Permits, Chimpanzee Permits as well as National Park. This discounted offer will run for three months effective from 01 December 2021 – 31st March 2021.

This is done to encourage all travelers within and outside Uganda to come and visit Uganda considering that they have been affected by the effects of the virus. The Uganda Wildlife Authority Budget is majorly facilitated by revenue from the park entrance fee, gorilla trekking as well as Chimpanzee tracking thus your visit to Uganda is paramount to all most every Ugandan citizen.

The discounts offered to visitors are listed below;

Gorilla trekking permit discount

Effective 01 December 2021 – 31st March 2021, Uganda discounts gorilla trekking permits for foreign nonresidents coming to Uganda for gorilla trekking will pay USD 400 from the previous USD700 for the permit, East African Community residents will pay UGX 150,000 from UGX 250,000 and Foreign Residents will now pay USD 300 from USD 600

Chimpanzee Trekking Permits discount

Effective 01 December 2021 – 31st March 2021, foreign nonresidents coming to Uganda for chimpanzee trekking will pay USD 1500 from the previous USD200 for the permit, East African Community residents will pay UGX 100,000 from UGX 150,000 and Foreign Residents will now pay USD 100 from USD 150

The above prices apply only to new purchases between 1st December 2020 and 31st March 2021 and not on reschedules of already deposited on permits or purchases using credit letters.

Further  50 percent discount has been granted to parks 50% discount on the park entrance fee for the following National Parks; Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Murchison Falls National Park,  Semuliki National Park,  Toro Semliki Wildlife Reserve,  Katonga Wildlife Reserve,  Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve and  Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve.

UWA has further granted a 50% discount to birding safaris conducted in the following parks Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Mgahinga National Park, Kibale Forest National Park,  Mount Elgon National Park, Semuliki National Park, and Rwenzori Mountains National Park.
