This Primate Safari and Wildlife Encounter is the absolute chimp experience, wildlife safari and gorilla trekking adventure. On this primate Safari tour you will experience the magnificent Kibale national park, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi national parks. You see lots of primates ranging from monkeys, chimps to mountain gorillas. You will also encounter lots of birds, hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, and many more wild animals and birds.

Day 1: Arrival and city tour

Upon your arrival, Meet and greet our guide to start your primate Safari and drive you to the hotel with in Kampala. Depending on your arrival time, we may do a city tour to explore most amazing major cultural and historical sites. Drive back to the lodge for relaxation and Diner.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale national park for a primate Safari-Bigondi swamp walk

After breakfast, drive south west via Fort portal to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive will take approximately 5-6 hours as you drive along the way enjoy the scenery and see Ugandan’s way of life in their traditional homesteads and farms. Have lunch from Fort Portal town, go for checking in at your reserved lodge relax and later go to Bigodi swamp sanctuary for your evening nature walk which will gift you with numerous chances to see over 229 species of birds, different tree species, and other small animals within the wet tropical forests of the park. Plus, other different primates such as, blue monkeys, baboons and a variety of birds. Return back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Kibale Forest NP – Morning Chimpanzee Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Have breakfast and transfer to the park information center for briefings before setting off for your chimpanzee tracking for the first highlight of your primate Safari in Uganda. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and other primates but considering other small organisms to make it interesting. Expect to meet well habituated chimpanzees and other primates such as Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, lhoestes, and butterflies. After tracking enjoy your lunch and other refreshments and then start the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is nestled between two great lakes, “George and Edward” with kazinga channel joining the two lakes, it’s a lush Savannah which offers prime grazing ground for many big and small mammals and harbors over 600 bird species. Drive straight to your reserved lodge for relaxation as you can decide to swim.

 Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Morning Game drive – Afternoon Boat cruise – Evening game drive

After your morning coffee, head out for a morning game drive to look for wildlife on Kasenyi track of the park. Common sightings here are; elephant, warthog, waterbuck, Uganda kob, lions, hyena, buffalo and much more including many bird species. Have a short break for lunch and later go for your afternoon boat cruise on the well-known Kazinga Channel. The Channel has the highest concentration of hippos in Africa, big number of Nile crocodiles and it is a paradise for birders enjoys most as they see hundreds and hundreds of birds on the shore. Expect to see a number of big mammals on the shores as they have come to quench their thirty such as Elephants, Buffaloes, and Antelopes. After this adventurous launch prepare for your evening game drive and this will be specifically to search for the big predators of the park such as lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and many others. Return to the lodge for diner and an overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game drive through Ishasha sector – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable

After breakfast and with bags ready head out to Ishasha section of the park famous for its tree climbing lions, for a morning game drive to look out for the tree climbing lions and afterwards continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park famous to be a home to half of the world’s remaining endangered mountain gorillas. A magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, this ancient rainforest -one of the few in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age. Arrive to check in and have lunch, relax or go for an evening village walk and shopping at the craft market before dinner. At an altitude of up to 2,607 meters (8553ft). Expect some cooler temperatures in the evening.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP – Gorilla trekking –Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Evening canoeing

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and depart for the morning pre trek Gorilla (primate Safari) briefing at the park headquarters. Later go for your longtime awaited activity “Gorilla trekking” the time taken while trekking is not known but it is expected to be between2-8 hours depending on the movement of the Gorilla family you are allocated to. During the trek expect to discover other primates such as Chimpanzees, black and white colombus monkey, vervet monkey, and many others. On encounter, spend an hour of exhilarating moments with these gentle giants. Return to the lodge for a shower, lunch. Then leave the home of red eyed giants and drive to Lake Bunyonyi where over 200 bird species have been recorded. “Bunyonyi” actually means “the place of many little birds” Lake Bunyonyi is one of the few African lakes completely safe for swimming and canoeing.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi – Return to Entebbe international Airport

After breakfast, drive back to Entebbe International Airport with stop en-route at Kayabwe equator point for water experience, souvenirs buying then drive straight to Entebbe town for your lunch and drop off at the airport with great experience of primate Safari in Uganda.
