A gorilla permit costs $700 for foreign nationals, UGX 250,000 for citizens of east Africa and $600 for foreign residents of Uganda with a working permit of more than a year. In DR Congo a gorilla trekking permit costs $450 while Rwanda its $1500 all these are for per person per trek.

You should note that going for gorilla trekking you must possess a valid gorilla permit. There for you to get a gorilla permit you need to submit your passport number, name, nationality and date of birth. And with this process you are assured that your gorilla trekking permit cannot be given to another person therefore you will have to show your passport and other identification documents at the pre – gorilla trekking briefing.

While booking a gorilla permit, you will need to provide your payment receipts and the day you want to go for trekking and if the dates are not available you will have to ask them to update you of the days available.

After this you will receive a scanned copy of your gorilla trekking permit within a few days.
