8 days Uganda gorillas, chimpanzees, and wildlife safari takes you to Lake Mburo, Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, and Kibale forest national parks. This 8 days safari starts and ends in Kampala Uganda. The main national parks in this safari are; lake Mburo national park with a big number of zebras and other animals like the impalas, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs as well as birds. Bwindi impenetrable forest national park a home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas. Queen Elizabeth national park famous for tree-climbing lions and the Kazinga channel. Kibale forest national park a home to 13 species of primates among which include chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons, and about 300 bird species.

Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park – game drive

 Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Kampala to Lake Mburo national park – Game drive

Our driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel in Kampala in the morning, brief you about the journey, and drive you west of the country to Lake Mburo national park with stopovers at the Mpambire drum makers for souvenirs and equator for photos. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon head out for a game drive in the park where you will see several animals like the buffaloes, impalas, zebras among others. Later in the evening drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver for your journey to the southwestern part of Uganda to Bwindi forest via Mbarara city. On your journey to the park, you will go through beautiful landscapes, rolling hills, farmlands, smiling people, and much more. Upon reaching the park you will proceed to your lodge, check-in, and have lunch. in the afternoon you can relax at the lodge while getting ready for trekking the following day.

Day 3: Mountain gorilla trekking and community walk

Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing with parked lunch. After the briefing, you will be accompanied by armed park rangers as you enter the jungle to trek mountain gorillas. If you are not physically fit you might need a walking stick and in case of heavy luggage u might need a porter at a fee. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi might take 2 and 8 hours and the moment you see them you will be given an hour to be with them as you take photos and watch them do daily activities. After trekking turn to the lodge, relax, and later in the evening take a walk to Batwa community where you will get a chance to interact with local people and learn from them so many things before returning to the lodge. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth via Ishasha sector

After morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet your driver for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha sector a home of tree climbing lions. The park has several wildlife species along which include waterbucks, lions, elephants, topis, warthogs among others. When your reach the park you will check in your lodge and have lunch. in the afternoon you can go for a game drive in the park or stay at your lodge relaxing. Have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel

On this day you will wake up very early for breakfast after which immediately meet your driver and start a game drive to see some of the nocturnal animals before going to their hide-out places. During the game drive, you will have a closer view of animals like lions, warthogs, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, topis, giant forest hogs, leopards, buffaloes among others. Later head back to the lodge, have some lunch and prepare for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which is one of the most eye-catching activities in the park.

During the boat cruise at Kazinga channel that connects lakes; Albert and George, you will see some of the water birds like the malachite kingfisher, African shoebill, pink-backed pelicans, yellow-billed stork, and water animals – crocodiles and hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes on the shores of the lake. Drive back to the lodge for have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Morning game drive, visit the baboon cliff, and departure to Kibale

Have a delicious break first, meet your driver for a morning game drive in the park where you might get a chance of seeing animals you might have missed out on the previous day. After a game drive, visit the baboon cliffs where you will get introduced to amazing and stunning sceneries. Return to the lodge for lunch, check out and start on your journey to Kibale forest which is the home of the largest population of chimpanzees in Uganda. Arrive in the evening, relax, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk

On this beautiful day wake up to morning breakfast, leave the lodge meet your driver-guide for a transfer to the park headquarters with all equipment you need for chimpanzee trekking, be briefed about the activity. After briefing start on trekking lead by a ranger guide through the forest. Nothing is as beautiful as meeting eye to eye with chimpanzees in their natural environment, you will spend 1 hour with them watch them do daily activities, and take photos. While looking for chimpanzees you will also see primates such as blue monkeys, l’hoest’s monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush babies, grey checked mangabeys among others as well as birds. after chimpanzee trekking, return to the lodge and have lunch. in the afternoon you will head out for a walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will interact with local people staying there, different bird species e.g. Abyssinian ground thrush, blue breasted kingfisher, African pitta, crown eagle, spotted barbet, collared Apalis, western nictor and primates such as otters, baboons, bush pigs among others.

Day 8: Return to Kampala

After delicious morning breakfast, check out of the lodge, leave the park and drive to Kampala city via Mubende, where you will get an opportunity to see beautiful scenic views found in this area. You will have lunch at any of the restaurants in Mubende and thereafter proceed with the journey to Kampala. Your driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel or take you to the Entebbe international airport to end your 8 days Uganda gorillas, chimpanzees, and wildlife safari
