4 days Uganda chimpanzee and wildlife adventure safari will take you to Kibale forest national park home of chimpanzees and other 12 primates such as vervet monkeys, l’hoests monkeys, baboons among others. Kibale forest national park is famous for chimpanzee trekking. The safari will also take you to queen Elizabeth national park located in western Uganda about 376 km from Kampala. Queen Elizabeth national park is home to over 95 mammal species among which include the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, hippos among others, over 500 bird species and tree species. Activities done in queen Elizabeth national park include game drives in Kasenyi plains, boat cruise on Kazinga channel, bird watching, and a visit to crater lakes.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale forest national park

A driver guide from Africa adventure vacations will pick you up from your hotel, the first brief you about your safari, and later drive you westwards to Kibale forest national park. Along the way, you will have great views of the Rwenzori ranges and the beautiful landscape gave an en route for lunch. on arrival at Kibale national park, check-in at your lodge, and in the after non have a nature walk to the Bigodi swamp area where you will see so many different bird species and some of the park animals. Later return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking – Transfer to queen Elizabeth national park

Wake up to an early morning breakfast and meet your driver-guide for a transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing concerning chimpanzee tracking. Here you will be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek and a ranger guide to lead you into the forest. Meeting these chimpanzees takes 2 to 6 hours but it’s a dream come true that gives an hour to spend with chimpanzees, learn about their habits, watch them do their daily activities as you take photographs of these primates that carry 98% human DNA. During the hiking, you will also meet other primates such as vervet monkeys, grey checked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus, plants, and different bird species. Later in the afternoon, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will check out your lodge and meet your driver-guide for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park where you will arrive late in the evening, proceed to your booked lodge check-in, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After early morning breakfast, your driver-guide will be ready to pick you up and transfer you to Kasenyi plains for a game drive looking for animals such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, leopards, antelopes among others. After an amazing game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon you will drive to the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise where you will have an opportunity to see water animals like the crocodiles and hippos, animals like elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes on the lakeshore drinking water. You will later drive back to the lodge, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit lake Katwe and departure

After a relaxed breakfast, you meet your driver-guide who will drive you towards lake Katwe where you will be able to gain cultural and historical insight into salt trading of the past and salt mining and also see how local people get salt out of the lake and sell it to traders. After a visit to lake Katwe, you will proceed with your journey to Kampala with an en-route lunch in Masaka and a stopover at the equator for some photos and souvenirs as you continue to Kampala for a drop off at your hotel or a transfer to Entebbe international airport to end your 4 days Uganda chimpanzee and wildlife adventure safari.
