Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick Up- Fly to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Visit Katwe salt mining community (Flight time: One and half hours).

Today, depending on the scheduled time of your internal flight to Queen Elizabeth national park, our safari guide will pick you from hotel/ residence in Kampala or Entebbe and drive you either to Kajjansi airstrip or Entebbe airport for your flight to Queen Elizabeth National Park landing at Mweya airstrip inside Queen Elizabeth national park. Upon landing at the airstrip, you will be warmly received by our safari guide who will transfer you by road to your respective booked accommodation to check in, have lunch and a short rest and then go to Lake Katwe which is surrounded by the park where local people extract salt. Lake Katwe is one of the most known crater lakes in the formerly active volcanic area north-east of Lake Edward and south-east of Lake George throughout Uganda and the entire East African region for its substantial salt production found within an explosion. The Lake shores are lined with small pans of water from which salt is mined from the bottom. The visit to Lake Katwe will give you an opportunity to interact with the local people who have done salt extraction for many years and show you they do it and give you a chance to participate in the activity too. Most of the tools they use are indigenous. After the community experience, drive back to your booked accommodation to relax, be served dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth national Park – Morning wildlife sighting game drive – Afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel – Visit Kasoga Community

Wake very early in the morning cup to be served breakfast and then drive to Kasenyi plains in Queen Elizabeth national park for an early morning wildlife sighting game drive in search for savannah wild mammals and birds plus enjoying the beautiful views of the plain savannah game. During your game drive, you may spot herds of buffaloes, elephants, big cats like lions and leopards, other predators like Spotted hyenas, Civets, spot several antelope species, some primates like Vervet monkeys, olive baboons, Warthogs and many other species. Your safari driver guide will help you to spot several species and share with you lots of information about everything that you will encounter. Return to your accommodation to spend some minutes relaxing, have lunch and then drive to the Kazinga channel for a 2 hours’ boat cruise. Kazinga channel is said to be the largest natural water channel in the whole world and has the highest concentrations of hippopotamuses recorded in the whole world. While on this afternoon boat safari on the beautiful Kazinga channel, you will several water mammals and birds like the Nile crocodiles, huge hippos, caped buffaloes, elephants and many more that visit this channel for swimming and drinking water. After the cruise safari at around 5 pm, drive to Kasoga community a small fishing village in the park to interact with the indigenous people to know how they do their fishing activities, understand how people can co-exist with wildlife in harmony and then take park in some of their activities. Later drive back to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth national park – Morning game drive – Fly back to Entebbe

After breakfast, get all your bags, check out of your lodge and drive to the park for another game drive to search for mammal wildlife species. This game drive may give a chance to encounter those species that you would have been missed during your previous game drive mostly the predators like Leopards, spotted hyenas, Lions and more Elephants, Buffaloes later, transfer to Mweya Airstrip for your return internal flight to Entebbe or Kajjansi airstrip where you will meet our safari drive who will welcome you and take you back to your residence or Hotel in Kampala / Entebbe.
