Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera national park- Boat Cruise On Lake Ihema

You meet our driver guide in the morning for your journey to Akagera national park on the eastern side of Rwanda. You will be briefed about your 3 days safari to Akagera national park. The drive to Akagera national park is a 2 -3 hours’ drive passing through rolling hills. On arrival at Akagera national park, the driver guide will clear with the park authorities after which you will continue to your booked lodge to relax and have lunch. After lunch, you will go for an evening boat cruise on Lake Ihema the largest lake in the park where you will see a lot of water animals such as hippos and crocodiles as well as water birds like African fish eagle, and shoebill stork. You will also get an opportunity after the boat cruise, you will return to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive in Akagera national park

Wake up very early in the morning for your morning breakfast. Our driver-guide will pick you from your lodge and take you for an early morning game drive. The game drive will take you through different parts of the park as you look out for some of the big mammals – elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, zebras, impalas, topis, cape elands, waterbucks, and many others. The park is home to big numbers of animals and over 525 bird species among which include herons, African jacana, and grey crested crane among others. The game drive in Akagera national park can last you 6 and more hours depending on your interests. After the game drive, you will get back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay as you prepare to get back to Kigali the next day.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer back to Kigali

After your morning breakfast, our driver-guide will take you for the last morning drive in the park. During this drive, you will see different wild animals and birds and you will get a chance to see animals that you missed out on the previous day. If you are lucky you might see a leopard. After the game drive, you will check out of the park and start on your journey back to Kigali city. You will have your lunch in Kigali city before being dropped at your hotel or airport for your flight.
