The third waterfall is Ngasire gushes over an 87m high ridge.

Mount Elgon is the largest base area of any free-standing volcano in the world and it is the 8^th highest mountain in whole Africa.  The savannah elephants that is Loxodonta Africana are also spotted around mountain Elgon. , not the forest elephants of West and Central Africa.

The cave-in Mount Elgon also visited by elephants is “Kitum” a Masai word meaning “place of ceremonies” and it expands for about 160 meters in the mountain. It also has amazing elephants. The Caldera was made as a result of magma being drained after the chamber. When it could no longer support the overlying volcanic cone, it misshapen into a depression-like shape. In the Eastern corner of the caldera, hot springs are found.  In the Northwest, Simu Gorge was formed by the sheer weight of the water in the caldera passing through 2 stream beds out of the weak volcanic ash and agglomerate walls. The caldera – Elgon’s is among the largest intact calderas worldwide.
