Weather and Climate in Bwindi: Bwindi Forest National Park has various species and is among the richest and oldest ecosystem in Africa. The park has been in existence for 25000 years ago and is made up 120 mammal species that include chimpanzees, white colobus monkeys, and red tailed, white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, baboons and among others. The park also protects ultimately 350 bird species with 51 reptiles and butterfly species. However, the park is well known for the famous mountain gorilla trekking.

The park is composed of 327 sq.km and it contains montane and lowland forest that are reached on by foot. Bwindi locally means darkness. Closeness to the equator makes the park to receive rainfall unexpectedly. When it comes to morning or night it gets cold. The rain has low seasons of wet months such as September-November and March-May and the drizzles take long hours. You should come with warm clothes in Bwindi.

Climate and weather in Bwindi also changes to dry season during the months of December-February and June, July. But still the park receives low rainfall. The dry season is the best season to visit the park for gorilla trekking.

When it comes to the dry season, the day is hot with a temperature of 30A0C but in the nights and mornings it gets cold with temperature of 9A0C.

During the wet seasons, Bwindi forest receives wet seasons which are wet and mild in the months of March and May, November, September. In these seasons, it rains heavily and it drizzles for the whole day. However, the wet seasons are alienated into two parts, the short rains of March to May and September to November for long seasons.

Gorilla trekking is runs throughout year in Bwindi, however, during the low seasons of rain, it is hectic because the trails are muddy and slippery thus difficult to hike through.
