Uganda Gorilla Permits for Bwindi and Mgahinga- One can’t trek gorilla in Uganda’s national parks of Mgahinga and Bwindi without a gorilla trekking permit. Gorilla trekking takes place in three African countries of Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda.

When to book Uganda gorilla permits.

Uganda gorilla permits for Mgahinga and Bwindi impenetrable forest national parks can be booked any time of the year. However these permits tend to sell out very quickly especially in the peak season of, June, July, August, and September, then December up to February yearly and therefore we recommend that you book the gorilla permits early in advance to secure for yourself space for seeing gorillas in Uganda.

The price of the Uganda gorilla trekking permit

Yes, the gorilla permit price of Uganda keeps on changing depending on certain circumstances, however, the current Uganda Wildlife Authority Tariff, the Uganda gorilla permit costs USD 700  per trek per person and this allows one hour of seeing the gorillas in the wild.

In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, one can as well go for a gorilla habituation permit that costs USD1500 and this allows you to see gorillas for four hours. This is the current price of the gorilla trekking permit. The gorilla permit price in Uganda makes Uganda the second affordable destination for gorilla trekking after the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rwanda is the most expensive gorilla destination in the region and the gorilla trekking permit in Rwanda costs USD1500 for you to see gorillas for only one hour and this means that Uganda remains the affordable destination for gorilla trekking provided Congo is not yet fully stable for gorilla trekking.
