Ntebeko entrance gate is the main for entrance where visitors heading to Mgahinga national Park pass. Ntebeko gate is found 14km off Kisoro road in a dirt road which takes you through the park. The Ntebeko route has been improved of recent and will only take you 30 minutes to arrive to Kisoro town. Mgahinga gorilla National Park has only on entrance and is accessed by visitors from all directions.  To reach the Ntebeko entrance gate from the park’s headquarters office in Kisoro, you will have to take the main road heading to DRC which is about 100m and you will turn left at the first main junction before the Travelers Rest Inn and again you will have to take a right turn of 100m further. Then follow the stone landmarks up to Ntebeko.

Gorilla trekking normally begins from the Ntebeko entrance gate at around 8am in the morning. A traveler is requested to plan his time well when he encounters mountain gorillas because the maximum time given is just one hour. Ntebeko entrance gate provides you with an overview of the area you are going to walk and the viewing point is just 15 minutes from Ntebeko Gate.

When driving from Kampala to the main  entrance of Mgahinga on the road will take you almost 9 hours driving which is approximately 510km and when coming from Rwanda’s Kigali to Ntebeko will take you 2 hours’ drive thus is a journey of 150km.

Mgahinga gorilla National Park is famously known as the smallest Park in Uganda with 33.7km2 and is located in the south western regions in Kisoro District. Mgahinga National Park is bordered by Volcanoes National Park in the south, Virunga National Park in the West.
