Lake Mihindi is one of the lakes found in Akagera national park lying at an altitude of about 1282 meters in the eastern part of Rwanda. Lake Mihindi can be accessed from Kigali the capital city of Rwanda after a 2 – 3 hours’ drive. The lake is one of the easily accessible swampy places in Akagera national park which is also located in the extreme northeastern side of Rwanda at the borders with Tanzania.

Lake Mihindi is an ideal place for tourists who wish to look out for some papyrus animals that live in that place. There is the hippo beach on the other which gives you an opportunity to see a variety of hippos and it also happens to feature among the three remarkable sites set for picnic tours. Getting to Lake Mihindi

Lake Mihindi is located inside Akagera national park in the eastern side of Rwanda. Getting to this lake  is about 2 – 3 hours’ drive from Kigali city in a good and comfortable 4 wheel drive safari vehicle. The lake is located in the extreme northeastern part of Rwanda on the borders with Tanzania. The quickest way to get to Lake Mihindi is by using a flight from Kigali international airport using Akagera aviation which gives you an opportunity to get the best sceneries of Rwanda while in the air.
