The initiated gorilla doctors are dedicated to save the mountain and lowland gorillas. There is a team known as veterinary team which is there to provide medical care to the injured gorillas which are usually injured during the time of poaching or fights/wars.

There are less than 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world and the veterinary team considers the health of every gorilla as vital and they are supposed to be protected and conserved for the future generations to watch.

The gorilla doctors are the ones who are in charge of monitoring health of the gorillas and they are also in charge of detecting disease at such an early stage and they are supposed to be controlled.

They intervene and conduct veterinary services which are met to treat ill gorillas and more especially those that have been infected with human infections because they are catastrophic to their poor immune system.

They are the ones who take care and rehabilitate the orphaned gorillas which have been saved from the poachers.

They are still the ones that are supposed to record as they study the health trends of the gorillas and thus give a good monitoring trend plus also predicting the outbreaks and curb them.

They are the ones supposed to provide samples for research and go ahead to monitor the use of these samples. They are supposed to monitor the outcomes of the research which in return is shared to everybody.

They are the ones supposed to provide the preventive health care to the gorillas and inform about the immunization program plus also training the other people.
