Countries exempted from Visa requirements to Uganda: A tourist visa in Uganda can be obtained on arrival without applying in advance if you have the documents required. Ugandan foreign embassies also issue visas if there is one in your home country. Alternatively, visitors can apply for a visa online through the Uganda electronic visa application system at visas.immigration.go.ug

There are different options for visas available to visit Uganda such as the Uganda ordinary/ tourist visa /single entry purpose of leisure and tourism visa which is always valid for 30 days at a fee of $50 US and the East African tourist visa at $100 US valid for 6 months that allows entry into Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya

Getting a Uganda Visa on arrival

It is possible to obtain visa on arrival at Entebbe international airport or other land entry border points such as cyanika and katuna if you are coming from Kigali Rwanda. Should you choose to obtain your Uganda visa, you must have the required documents ready at hand. The Uganda immigration officials hold the right to grant or refuse you entry when you lack clarification. You are strongly advised to obtain your visa early before your departure. You should also inquire if the Airline that you want to use to fly to Uganda does allow you to board it without the Uganda visa in your passport.

Online Uganda Visa Application Process

The Ugandan embassies, requires a visa application form that is completed online which you can access when you follow this link; https://visas.immigration.go.ug

Fill in the application from and write your name exactly as it appears in your passport. Upload your passport size photo. Submit your complete form by email for approval and make payment of $ 50US including 3% surcharge.

Once you are approved, the approval letter will be sent to you via email for you to download. When you arrive, you will show approval for visa and go through a simple verification and have your visa.

Uganda Visa Requirements

Hold a passport valid for 6 months from the date of entry into Uganda.
Yellow fever vaccination card
4 passport size photographs
Confirm the purpose of travel such as holiday safari, business, visiting friends and relatives.

Single entry Uganda visas are valid for 30 days. The day you arrive at Entebbe airport is counted as the first day
