Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Pick up from Kampala / Entebbe international airport – Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla national park

The day one of your 4 Days Mgahinga Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking safari after breakfast at your place of residence (0600 am) or on arrival at Entebbe international airport with an early morning plane latest (1000 am) you will be met our company representative who will be your English speaking safari guide your driver-guide throughout your 4 Days Mgahinga Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking safari for meet and greet, have a short briefing about your 4 Days Mgahinga Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking safari and Uganda at large. Thereafter, start your journey to Mgahinga gorilla national park found in southwestern Uganda across the equator landmark at the footsteps of Virunga mountain ranges.  You will have a stopover at Kayabwe equator landmark to have a chance where the planet divides into northern and southern hemispheres, do water experiment which is done on both sides of the planet, take some memorials photos when one leg is standing in northern hemisphere and another one in the southern hemisphere, have a cup coffee and then proceed with the journey to Igongo cultural museum to have lunch, visit the museum center. Day 2: Mgahinga gorilla national park – Mountain Gorilla Trekking – Evening boat canoeing on Lake Mutanda

Wake very early in the morning to start your day with breakfast, have your snacks and drinking water and then drive to the park information office to be briefed on the dos and don’ts to follow during mountain gorilla trekking, what to expect and how to behave in the presence of mountain gorillas, get a ranger guide and later at 0800hrs start your forest walk to search for the mountain gorillas. The time spend during mountain gorilla trekking may take between 1-5 hours depending on the movements and location of the mountain gorillas and your walking speed. Mountain gorilla trekking requires better health and physical fitness due to the terrain so, you have to be well prepared. When you encounter the mountain gorillas, you will stay with them for a period of an hour and during this time, you are free to take as many photos as you would want and asking questions about mountain gorillas and other wildlife species that you meet yin the forest when searching for the mountain gorillas. After spending an hour with the mountain gorillas, return to the starting point to receive your certificate, relax for some minutes and then drive to your lodge to have full lunch, spending your afternoon relaxing and later in the evening go for an evening boat canoeing on Lake Mutanda where you will spot several water birds. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 3: Mgahinga gorilla national park – Golden Monkey trekking – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Rise up early in the morning to have lovely breakfast, have all your luggage packed in the vehicle, get your packed lunch, meet your safari guide and drive to the park information center for the pre- trekking briefing by the ranger guide, get allocated a golden monkey family and then set off for tracking the Golden monkeys. Searching for the golden monkeys can take about 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on their movements in the forest and number of stopovers you will make while enjoying other things in the forest. Golden monkeys are normally found in the Bamboo forest zones of the reserve and bamboo is one of the best food. Once you meet the golden monkeys, you will also have 1 hour to stay with them and you will be free to take as many photos as you would and to ask questions about them. Thereafter spending an hour with the golden monkeys, return to the park starting point to have some refreshments, enjoy your packed lunch, relax for them minutes and then start your drive to Lake Bunyonyi  to spend your evening relaxing while enjoying the lovely sounds of birds and seeing some water birds. Dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi – Morning boat canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi – Return to Kampala / Entebbe international Airport

You wake in the morning to have breakfast, go for your boat canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi one of the most interesting activity not to see on your tour to this lake. There is nothing comparable to boat riding and canoeing to experience the beauty and coolness of Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi has unique characters and spirits that will make your tour more adventurous. The boat riding and canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi will make you feel relaxed and spot several bird species such as eagles, rare bird species, and unbelievable plants. Boat riding or canoeing tour on Lake Bunyonyi can connect you to many islands on lake such as Akampene “Punishment Island” where the Bakiga People would take unwed pregnant girls and abandon them there till death as mean to frighten other girls from sex before their official marriage. Later people would go there and mock calling names and shame these girls in a more frightful way. Some girls would try to swim back to the mainland but they would die before reaching and the only way of escaping from death was if a poor man who could not afford to pay the bride’s price would come to the Island and rescue a girl to take her as his wife but this nature of treating girls who get pregnant before marriage is no longer existing among the Bakiga people.  Later, return to your lodge to check out and embark on your drive back to your residence /hotel in Kampala or Entebbe international airport to prepare for your flight.
