Day 1:  Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park.

Meet and greet our company representative and your birding guide for briefing and drive to Murchison falls national park. You will pass through traditional homesteads of Luwero triangle to get an insight of the local culture. Have Lunch en-route, at Masindi and proceed to the park through Kichombanyobo gate. You will do an evening game drive and you drive towards the top of the falls. Murchison falls are the most impressive falls in the region and the most powerful in the whole world. While at the top of the falls, expect to see birds like the Red-winged Pitilia, Pel’s fishing owl, white-crested Turaco, Bat Hawk, Rock Pratincole among others. Later drive to Pakuba safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:  Birding in Murchison falls national park – Launch cruise.

Have a morning breakfast and start your birding trip in the northern sector of Murchsion falls national park to look for birds like Foxy Cisticola, Red-necked Falcon, Swallow-tailed, Northern Camine and Red-throated Bee-eater, African Quail-finch, Black-billed Barbet, Bueatiful Sunbird, Pel’s Fishing Owl, Woodchat Shrike, Common Button-quail, Red-winged Grey Warbler, Abyssinian Ground-hornbill, , Harlequin Quail, White-tailed Lark, Black-bellied and Denham’s Bustard, Shoebill stork  among others. You will also encounter a number of mammals such as the Buffaloes, Oribis, Giraffes, Jackson’s Hart-beast, Elephants, lions etc. Have lunch and get ready for a boat cruise at the bottom of the falls to have an opportunity to see many aquatic bird species, schools of Hippos, crocodiles at the shores of the Nile and the spectacular Murchison falls at close range. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:  Full day birding at Kanio-Pabidi, Budongo forest.

After Breakfast, continue spotting a number of birds on your 7 day bird watching safari in Uganda with a transfer to Budongo Forest for a full day forest birding tour at Kaniyo Pabidi. You will see birds like; Rofous Crowned Eremomela, Forest Francolin, Ituri Batis, African Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted Barbet, and Red tailed Ant-thrush, Black-Bellied Fire Finch, Fairy-breasted and Yellow-billed Barbet, Spotted Greenbul,Chocolate-Backed, African Dwarf and African Pygmy Kingfisher, Dusky Long-tailed Cuckoo, Black Bishop, Yellow and Grey Longbills, Brown-backed Scrub-robin, Brown Twinspot, Slender-billed Green Bull, Rufous-crowned Eremomela, White-thighed Hornbill, Yello-spotted, Crowned Eagle, Cameroon Sombre Green Bull, Jameson’s Wattle-eye, Lemon-Bellied Crombec, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher, Fire Crested Alethe, and Puvel’s Illadopsis among others. Day 4:  Budongo Forest– Kibale National Park.

Have breakfast and drive to Kibale forest national park with lunch en-route and stopovers at some birding spots along the road. We arrive Kibale in the afternoon and check in to our booked lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight stay at Isunga Safari lodge

Day 5:  Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi wetland sanctuary

Have breakfast and head to Kibale forest national park headquarter for chimpanzee trekking and bird watching tour. You will meet a number of birds and chimps from the forest. Take as many photos as possible. Come back to the lodge for lunch and prepare yourself for an evening swamp walk in the Bigodi sanctuary. On this day, expect to spot the following bird species; White-napped and Afep Pigeon, Green-breasted and African Pitta, White-bellied Crested Flycatcher, White-spotted  Fluff-tail, Grey-throated Flycatcher, Blue Headed Coucal, Green-backed Twinspot, Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo, Black Bee-eater, Great-blue Turaco, White-spotted Flufftail, Black and White Mabnikin, Narina Trogon, Abyssinian Ground-thrus, Cabanis’s and Joyful Greenbul, Purple-headed Starling, Scaly and Nahan’s Francolin, Wilcocks and Lesser Honeyguide, Blue-breasted and Shining-blue Kingfisher among others.

Day 6:  Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park – Launch cruise

Have a leisurely breakfast and head to Queen Elizabeth national park with frequent stops for birding. You will drive to your lodge for check in and hot lunch. Later go to Mweya peninsular to catch up with your boat cruise on the Kazinga channel.  During your boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, expect to see birds like Slender-tailed Nightjar, Swamp Nightjar, African Mourning Dove, Scarlet-chested Sunbird, Raptors, Squire-tailed Nightjar, Red-chested Sunbird, Pygmy Kingfisher, Swamp Flycatcher, Blue-naped Mouse bird, Little Bee-eater, Diederik Cuckoo, Pin-tailed Whydah, Grey-Headed Kingfisher, Black-headed Gonolek, Slender-billed Weaver, Grey-capped Warbler, Yellow-backed Weaver, Nubian Woodpecker, Swifts, Lesser Masked Weaver, Red-capped Lark, Martins, Swallows, schools of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and Buffaloes among others. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Hab Lodge.

Day 7:  Game drive – Transfer to Entebbe

Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains to look for a number of wildlife and bird species such as Green-winged Pytilia, Terminicks Couser, Collared Pratincole, Pallid and Montagu’s Harrier among others. Retrieve from the park and drive to Entebbe with en-route lunch at Igongo Cultural Center. After continue with your journey to Entebbe international airport to end your 7 Day Uganda Bird Watching Safari with lots of memories.
