Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

Our drive will be ready to pick you up from the airport or at your hotel and brief you about your safari to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. After the briefing, you will start on your journey from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park which is about 8 – 9 hours. Along the way to Bwindi, you will a stopover at the equator crossing at Kayabwe where you will take photos and have a chance to stand in two hemispheres of the world. From the equator, you will proceed with your journey and have another stopover at Mpambire station where you will see how local drums are made. You will drive to Mbarara where you will have lunch at the Igongo culture center. Thereafter proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park where you will arrive in the afternoon. Check-in your booked lodge and have an evening relaxation. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

On the second day of your safari, you will wake up to a morning breakfast after which meet your driver-guide to transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing. During the briefing you will meet other trackers and you will be taught the rules and regulations of trekking. After the briefing, you will be grouped into 8 and each group will be given a ranger guide to lead them into the forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trekking time in Bwindi impenetrable forest varies from 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of these apes on that particular day. Once you allocate the gorillas, you will be given one full hour to be around them, learn about their habits, watch them do daily activities, take photos, and record moments. After spending an hour with gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters get your trekking certificate and meet your driver-guide for a transfer back to the lodge for lunch. in the evening you can relax at your lodge reading some book or decide to do a small nature walk around your lodge.

Day 3: Departure back to Kampala / Entebbe

You will have an en-route lunch in Mbarara. Since you use the same router as you used to go you will have a stopover at the equator crossing at Kayabwe for beautiful pictures, buy souvenirs after which continue with your journey.
