This 3 Days Sabinyo volcano hiking safari will take you to Mgahinga gorilla national park for an adventurous 1 day volcano hiking tour. Mount Sabinyo is one of the eight extinct volcanoes found within the Virunga ranges (Virunga massif). The eight volcanoes in the Virunga ranges include Mount Sabinyo, Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Nyiragongo, Mikeno, Nyamuragira and Gahinga. Mount Sabinyo got its name from a local word Sabinyo which means “Old man’s tooth”. This is due to its pointed summit that looks like worn out teeth when compared to other levelled summits of the neighboring mountains. The highest summit of Mount Sabyinyo is 12,037 feet and acts as a boundary for three countries – Uganda, DR Congo and Rwanda. The slopes of mount Sabinyo are habitats to the endangered mountain gorillas, beautiful golden monkeys and other mammals such as forest elephants, various forest antelopes and Buffaloes. Day 1: Pick from Kampala or Entebbe international airport – Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park

Day 2: Mgahinga gorilla national park – Full day mount sabinyo hiking (Ascend and descend)

Day 2 of the 3 days mount Sabinyo Hiking safari, wake up very in the morning to organize yourself, get well-dressed in a recommend style such as water proof hiking boots, a rain jacket and long trouser, have your camera, binoculars, have heavy breakfast, get your packed snacks and lunch boxes, drinking water and then meet your safari guide to be transferred to the park information center of Ntebeko to be briefed which is the first thing done before starting the hike. During the briefing session, you will be given hiking stick, get allocated a park guide and ranger, and hire a porter to help you carry your bag, and other belongs during the hike. Later after the briefing, start the hike through the swamps and Bamboo forest of Mgahinga gorilla national park where you may have a chance to spot some wildlife mammals of Mgahinga gorilla national park such as golden monkeys, forest Elephants, L’hoest monkeys, several bird species and on a good day, you may meet mountain gorillas in the bamboo area and your park guide will be able to give you much information about everything that you will encounter which will make your hiking so adventurous.
