Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Pick up from Kampala / Entebbe airport – Drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park

Day 1 of the3 day Golden Monkey habituation experience safaris, after breakfast at your hotel/place of residence in Kampala or Entebbe or on arrival at Entebbe international airport, the allocated safari guide for this 3 Day Golden Monkey habituation experience safari will meet you for meet and greet and then brief you on your 3 Day Golden Monkey habituation experience safari. Afterwards, start your drive Mugahiga gorilla national park which is located in the southwestern part of Uganda. On your way to Mgahinga gorilla national park, you will have several stopovers to stretch your muscles and seeing other interesting things that a located along the road such as a stopover at Kayabwe equator landmark to watch the water experiments which are done on both sides of the planet to show how forces move differently on each side of the planet,  take some memorial photos and later proceed with your journey with another stopover at Igongo cultural museum to have lunch, visit the cultural museum which exhibits the ancient lifestyle of western ethnic groups . Thereafter visiting the museum, drive straight to Mgahinga gorilla national park where you will reach late in the evening to check in at booked lodge. The journey to Mgahinga gorilla national park from Kampala / Entebbe looks to be quite long but it is the most interesting journey to drive due to a number of different beautiful scenes to meet on the way such as the magnificent terraced and forested hills of the Kigezi, bypassing the local farms of the Ankole long horned cattle among others. Day 2: Mgahinga gorilla national park – Golden monkey habituation experience

Day 2 of the 3 day Golden Monkey habituation experience safari, rise up very early in the morning (0530 am) to prepare yourself, organize your required safari equipment like the binoculars, camera, insect repellants, and dress up in a recommend style like long water proof trouser, water proof jacket and hiking boots, have heavy breakfast, get your packed lunch and snacks boxes, drinking water and then meet your safari guide to drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park information offices to meet other guests for briefing on the guidelines to follow during forest walk in search for the beautiful golden monkeys, expectations of golden monkey habitation experience, how to behave in the presence of golden monkeys, join a group of researchers with UWA ranger guide and then start the forest walk in the search of the golden monkey family which is under habituation process. The time taken before meeting your allocated golden monkey family is not known however, it may take between 45mins to 4 hours and once you encounter them, you will spend 4 hours with them together with researchers who conduct research on the primates. Researchers, will be collecting samples from random individuals, studying behavior changes of the family after a while of habituation exercise, and seeing the techniques they use to make them get used to the presence of humans. During the time you will spend with golden monkeys, you have a chance to help researchers when collecting samples and you will be free to ask them several questions regarding golden monkeys, the Mgahinga forest and others wildlife species you will encounter while on your golden monkey habituation safari. You have to keep your camera on standby to be able to capture all your interesting moments while on your golden monkey experience safari.

Meeting the wild Golden Monkeys is a lot of fun due to their different gestures such as looking sky, jumping over you and other flurry of Monkey activities. Golden monkeys are mostly found in the Bamboo Forests forest areas of Mgahinga gorilla national park. These primates are so beautiful due to their various colors, including long golden hair, orange mixed into it along with its black limbs. You will make a stopover at Igongo cultural museum to have lunch, shop some souvenirs and later proceed to Kampala or Entebbe where you will reach early evening.
