Day 1: Pick up from Kampala / Entebbe airport – Drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park

Day 2: Mgahinga gorilla national park – Golden monkey habituation experience

Day 2 of the 3 day Golden Monkey habituation experience safari, rise up very early in the morning (0530 am) to prepare yourself, organize your required safari equipment like the binoculars, camera, insect repellants, and dress up in a recommend style like long water proof trouser, water proof jacket and hiking boots, have heavy breakfast, get your packed lunch and snacks boxes, drinking water and then meet your safari guide to drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park information offices to meet other guests for briefing on the guidelines to follow during forest walk in search for the beautiful golden monkeys, expectations of golden monkey habitation experience, how to behave in the presence of golden monkeys, join a group of researchers with UWA ranger guide and then start the forest walk in the search of the golden monkey family which is under habituation process. The time taken before meeting your allocated golden monkey family is not known however, it may take between 45mins to 4 hours and once you encounter them, you will spend 4 hours with them together with researchers who conduct research on the primates. Researchers, will be collecting samples from random individuals, studying behavior changes of the family after a while of habituation exercise, and seeing the techniques they use to make them get used to the presence of humans. During the time you will spend with golden monkeys, you have a chance to help researchers when collecting samples and you will be free to ask them several questions regarding golden monkeys, the Mgahinga forest and others wildlife species you will encounter while on your golden monkey habituation safari.
