Day 1: From Kigali International Airport and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

You will begin with a pickup from Kigali international airport or your hotel in Kigali by our professional tour guide who will meet, greet and introduce himself to you and give you a brief introduction of the itinerary telling the routes that you will use for the entire safaris and how all it will go. Depending on the time you have arrives in Kigali, you will have a short tour of Kigali the cleanest city in the whole of Africa, and visit the Kigali genocide museum and if time allows go ahead and explore some of the Kigali Genocide sites as you get an insight of the genocide times of Rwanda that happened in 1994 and after, you will start and enjoy the road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to trek and observe the endangered Mountain gorillas. Enjoy the scenic rolling hills of Rwanda before you cross Katuna or Cyanika borders to the Ugandan side. You will cross the Katuna or Cyanika border and you can have a stopover in Kabale town or Kisoro town for Lunch before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park for relaxation and the overnight stay at your booked lodge.

After the early morning breakfast provided by your lodge, and your packed lunch, you will walk up to and go to the park headquarter for briefing before the gorilla trekking activity. You will be briefed about the does and don’ts while in the forest searching for mountain gorillas and even after seeing them. From briefing, you will be allocated the habituated gorilla family that you’re going to trek and then taken to the starting point of your gorilla family. Gorilla family allocation is done basing on your choice which may be influenced by the state of your physical fitness, your interests, and maybe your age. This means that you will need to inform the guide of your choice of gorilla family before you start the activity of gorilla trekking. Gorilla trekking activity sometimes becomes so strenuous and therefore you need to adequately prepare and you need to have a certain level of fitness.

Gorilla trekking as well can last between 30 minutes to 5 hours and thus you need to extremely prepare for that. While waking into the forest searching for the endangered mountain gorillas, your guide will keep you informed by providing you with informative stories about the ancient trees in the forest, the encountered birds in the forest, and other wildlife species until you land on the given habituated gorilla family.
