How to get Buhoma Sector for Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Buhoma can be accessed through both road transport and air transport. By air transport, you can get to Buhoma in a short period and this mode of transport is less tiresome. One of the domestic airline companies in the Aero link conducts flights to the Kihihi airstrip where you can then go and head to the sector. As of now, there is no direct flight to Buhoma and what flight companies do is to land at Kihihi airstrip and then be transferred to Buhoma specifically at your booked lodge. You will spend approximately one-hour driving from the Kihihi airstrip to your lodge. Private charters are also available for visitors with different route plan or those who like privacy

By road, you will travel for about 8 to 10 hours to reach the Buhoma gorilla trekking sector from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala and here you will pass via Mbarara city and then to Kabare town and from Kabale, you proceed to Buhoma. Still, Buhoma can also be accessed through Kigali Rwanda which is approximately 4 to 5 hours
