The Park is a home of other 13 primates such as vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, golden monkeys, owl-faced monkeys, and crowned monkeys to mention but a few. Nyungwe forest national park has a canopy walk considered to be the best in east Africa. this canopy walk is built 50 meters above the ground giving you an aerial view of the park, birds, and animals. Nyungwe forest national park is also home to over 310 bird species of which 29 are endemic to the Albertine Rift.
