Reasons Why Uganda Gorilla Permits Are Cheaper Than Rwanda Permits?

Reasons why Uganda gorilla permits are cheaper than those of Rwanda? Mountain gorillas can be tracked in 4 national parks in 3 countries in the entire world that is Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo in Africa. You should bear in mind that as much as you as you can trek these mountain gorillas in one of the national parks, the price of the gorilla permits differs from one country to another with DR Congo being the cheapest and Rwanda being the most expensive. Africa adventure vacations will explore reasons as to why Uganda gorilla permits are cheaper than those of Rwanda in the article below.

A gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $1500 per person per trek and that of Uganda is $700 per person per trek.  This price applies to foreign non – residents who come in big numbers when it comes to gorilla tracking in Uganda. This means it’s cheaper buying a Ugandan gorilla permit because you save $800 on a gorilla permit.

Another reason why Ugandan gorilla permits are cheaper compared to those of Rwanda is that even though Uganda has a lot of natural attractions, it is not marketed as much as Rwanda markets its tourism to attract more tourists. Uganda has decided to keep its gorilla permits cheaper so as to attract tourists. This makes Uganda gorilla permits cheaper than those of Rwanda

The other reason why Uganda gorilla permits are cheaper than those of Rwanda is that Rwanda is suitable when it comes to gorilla tracking. In Uganda you will need about 3 days to track mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park or Mgahinga Gorilla Park while in Rwanda it’s very possible to trek mountain gorillas in volcanoes national park in 2 days due to nearness of the park to Kigali international airport as well as good road connections.

There is a very long distance from Entebbe international airport to Mgahinga gorilla national park and Bwindi impenetrable forest national park taking you about 9 – 10 hours. This means that people who hate being in cars for long distances will definitely go track mountain gorillas in Rwanda because the park is just a 3 hours’ drive from the city as much as gorilla permits are very expensive in Rwanda.

The experience of gorilla tracking in Rwanda is said to be more exciting than that of Uganda and this is why Rwanda has kept his prices of gorilla permits at a high price amidst competition from Uganda and DR Congo.

The other reason is that Rwanda is not as blessed as Rwanda in terms of fertile soils and other natural resources and because of that Rwanda government looks at tourism as one of the main foreign exchange earner of the country making the gorilla permits expensive. This is not the case when it comes to Uganda because Uganda looks at other sectors among which include agriculture, oil and gas and others. The above  mentioned reasons why Uganda gorilla permits are cheaper than gorilla trekking permits of Rwanda are opinions of Africa Adventure Vacations.
