This package also allows you to visit Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage center and the Virunga headquarters. Tourists who are interested in this package should know that, it has specific days that is Wednesday and Monday and at 11:00 am you have to be ready at the Grande Barrier so keep time to avoid disappointments.

The Nyiragongo Hike

Hikers should make sure that they reach at the Grande Barrier border at exactly 7:00 am for check in and get their hike permits by 8:00 am on the morning of the trek. You will join the convoy after check-in, the convoy that is arranged to set off for Kibati post which is the starting point to your 2-day hike. Keeping time management can help you to reach the summit by 5pm and enjoy this experience that takes a night then the next morning at 6:00 am and slope back to your reserved lodge.

The Great Ape

Trekkers who want to visit primates in the Virunga national park, this is the best package for you. It gives you an opportunity to explore more about mountain gorillas and the chimpanzees. The package has specific departure time that is only Monday and Wednesdays at 11: 00 am to Mikeno lodge with 3 nights, 1 night at Bukima tented camp.

The Mikeno Mist

Here visitors are expected to reach at the Grande Barrier by 12:00 pm for check-in and receive their permits for Nyiragongo hike and gorilla trek. This trek takes 4-days that let the visitors to hike and do mountain gorilla trekking. At 13:00 pm you will join security convoy to set off from the meeting point to Kibumba tented camp where you will spend only 2 nights and then one night at Nyiragongo peak. The next day you will turn back for other activities according to your booked tour package.

The Petit Virunga (Mikeno)

This package is for 2 nights at Mikeno lodge and 1 night to the Nyiragongo summit. At exactly 11:00 am visitors are supposed to be at Grande Barrier. Tourists who booked this package, you have to keep it in your mind that Mikeno lodge package is carried out only on Fridays. Ensure that you book the flights line up with this plan if you want to stay at Mikeno lodge and also visiting Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage center.

The Petit Virunga (Bukima)

This trek takes 4 days which lets visitors to visit mountain gorillas and hike mountain Nyiragongo for 1 night at Bukima tented camp and the next night at Mikeno lodge plus 1 night to the mountain Nyiragongo summit. The starting set off time from Grande Barrier is 11:00 am, once you fail to reach before this hour automatically you will miss out. This package is only there on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the staring time is the same (11:00 am). You can also visit Senkwekwe gorilla orphanage center because it is among this package.
